Paris-CDG's new terminal names: what 2E, 2F and 2G become on 16 March 2027

On 16 March 2027, Paris-Charles de Gaulle drops names like 2E and 2F and numbers its terminals 1 to 7. The switch happens all at once: from that day, signs, screens and announcements at the airport only use the new numbers. Nothing moves. Airlines stay in the same buildings, and check-in areas, baggage claim numbers and the connection route stay the same. But tickets sold a year ahead may already show the new names, which is where confusion starts.

How to read the terminal on your ticket
The airport says tickets issued from 16 March 2026 may already use the new names; its own example is "Terminal 6" instead of "Terminal 2F".
- A letter after the 2 (2A to 2G): that's the current name.
- Terminal 4, 5, 6 or 7: that's a new name. Only the new system goes above Terminal 3.
- "Terminal 2" or "Terminal 3" without a letter: it could be either system. Today's Terminal 3 becomes Terminal 2, and today's 2A/2C become Terminal 3. Check with your airline or on the airport's website which terminal your flight really uses.
- A ticket printed before the change that shows the old name is still valid, and staff will be on hand to help.
Boarding gates
Gates also get new numbers on 16 March 2027: one letter and two digits, with a unique letter for each boarding area. Check the gate on the screens on the day, not only on an old boarding pass or itinerary.
Connections
The connection route doesn't change: it's still marked in yellow, with the gate groups shown under their new names.
Here are the airport's recommended connection times with the new names added. The airport publishes them with the current names; the new names are our translation using its table above.

Terminal 4 merges 2B and 2D, and the airport's table has rows for 2D but none for 2B, so for Terminal 4 only the former 2D part is covered. For the full guide, see connecting at Paris-CDG.
Car parks, drop-off and arrivals
- Renamed car parks: the ones linked to a terminal (PAB, PCD, PEF, PG, P3 and P3 Eco) take names matching the new terminal numbers, and keep both names for a while. Remote car parks such as PX keep their names, and prices don't change.
- Drop-off points at the terminals take the new terminal names but stay in the same places.
- Arrivals exits and meeting points stay where they are; only the signs change.
- Maps and directions: use the new names from 16 March 2027. The airport says old names like "Terminal 2E" will no longer be listed by map and navigation services after that date.
On the day
The airport will have extra staff in every terminal on 16 March 2027 and for a month afterwards. If you end up at the wrong terminal, ask them. Before you travel, check your flight's terminal on the airport's website or with your airline.
